LG unveils the G Pad 8.3 tablet

LG present the G Pad 8.3 tablet on Sunday. They hope the G Pad 8.3 tablet will challenge Apple's rumoured iPad Mini. The LG G Pad 8.3 is the firm's second stab at the Android tablet market, after its original LG Optimus Pad failed to make much of an impact.

The LG G Pad 8.3 is a top-end tablet device, it features an 8.3in 1920x1200 full HD touchscreen and a quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

LG has skinned the Android mobile OS with the same custom user interface found on its LG G2 smartphone, and will furnish the tablet with its own software features such as Knockon and Slideaside.

The LG G Pad 8.3 also features dual 5MP and 1.3MP cameras, 16GB of internal storage and a 4,600mAh battery.

It will be available across the US and Europe from November, although there's no word on pricing yet. LG has said however that it will be available in both black and white.

Check back soon for our hands-on with the LG G Pad 8.3 at the IFA conference in Berlin.
