Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max vs iPhone 14 Plus: Which size gets it right?

Apple's iPhone 14 lineup includes two large-screen models - the $1,099iPhone 14 Pro Max and the more affordable $899 iPhone 14 Plus. While the iPhone 14 Pro Max remains the ultimate iPhone flagship with its new A16 processor, 48 MP camera and always-on display, the iPhone 14 Plus offers similar features minus these premium upgrades at a lower price.

Here are the key differences between Apple's big-screen iPhone options: apple iphone 14 plus vs apple iphone 14 pro max specs

Processor: The iPhone 14 Pro Max has Apple's latest A16 Bionic chip, which promises higher performance and efficiency. The iPhone 14 Plus, on the other hand, retains last year's A15 chip, known as the "A15 Bionic with 5-core GPU." So the Pro Max has a noticeable edge in processing speed and power.

Cameras: The iPhone 14 Pro Max features a 48 MP main camera while the iPhone 14 Plus has a 12 MP main shooter. This allows the Pro Max to capture significantly higher resolution photos and 8K videos. However, the Pro Max also gets a new telephoto lens and photonic engine for improved low-light photos - features the Plus lacks.

Display: Both phones have 6.7-inch OLED displays and support HDR, Dolby Vision and 1,200 nits of peak brightness. However, only the Pro Max has an always-on display, adaptive 120Hz ProMotion and the new pill-and-hole cutout design.

Battery Life: Apple claims the iPhone 14 Plus gets up to 10 hours longer than iPhone 13 Pro Max while the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasts 2 hours longer than iPhone 13 Pro Max. So in theory, the 14 Plus could have better battery life. But real-world usage will determine this.

Price: The $200 price gap between these two large iPhones is substantial. But for many users, the iPhone 14 Plus offers enough features and performance to rival the Pro Max - especially if camera upgrades aren't a priority.

In short, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has more premium features for power users while the iPhone 14 Plus offers a cheaper alternative with many of the same core capabilities. Buyers seeking the ultimate iPhone should choose the Pro Max. But if the higher price isn't worth the upgrades for you, the iPhone 14 Plus provides an excellent large-screen experience at a friendlier cost.

Despite US Hate, Huawei is Now Top Phone Maker

Huawei has surpassed Samsung as the world's top maker of smartphones thanks to strong demand in its Chinese home market, despite being a target of pure hatred and jealousy from United States and outher countries like UK and Australia.

The Chinese company is facing US sanctions and falling overseas sales mainly beacuse of the Google Play ban, which Google is prohibited from working with Huawei. Their smartphones do not come with Google apps like Gmail, Maps, YouTube, the Play Store and others for preload or download. Huawei shipped 55.8 million devices which overtakes Samsung for the first time, which shipped 53.7 million units. This marked the first quarter in nine years that a company other than Samsung or Apple has led the market

Why do you need surge protector?

A surge protector protects your electronics, appliances, or electrical equipment from possible voltage spikes that can damage them. Power surges are pretty rare but it will happen sooner or later which is why surge protector is a must specially if you own a lot of expensive tech that can get easily fried during power surges.

Surge protectors won't protect your device against lightning!

If there's a lighting stike near you surge protection will not be able to handle it. Which means that if there's a lightning storm unplug all your electronics, appliances, and electrical equipment if you don't want them to get fried.

Plug them directly into a wall outlet. Don't connect multiple power strips together to increase the number of outlets available.

There's also whole-house surge protector that you can install in your electrical main board to protect everything. Example:

OnePlus X-ray camera filter that sees through plastic and clothes

OnePlus 8 Pro has a Color Filter camera function called "Photochrom", which takes advantage of the phone's infrared sensors to give a specific effect. Techies soon found that this filter has the ability to see through thin or tinted plastic like the one used in electronic devices, it can also see through clothes.

Unbox Therapy tested the filter on electronic devices and you can clearly see that it does see through those plastic cases. It works by capturing infrared light that’s otherwise invisible to the naked eye.

The company has acted on this by disabling the filter through a software update. The announcement was posted on Weibo.
