Have you experience plugging in a USB cable but it wont fit and you have to try it a couple of times before you get it right? That won't be a problem anymore with the new reversible USB connector called "USB Type-C." This will be a great upgrade if you are using Apple gadgets you will notice that their adapters are easy to connect.
It is also said that the USB Type-C will have the same size of a micro-USB Type-B connector. It will also be a variation of the 10Gbps USB 3.1 standard, that will be definitely faster than the USB 3.0.
Ilan Spillinger, Microsoft Corporate Vice-President said, "USB Type-C interface will be the next generation industry standard for high speed wired local connectivity. It will offer more intuitive consumer experience by means of reversible plug orientation and cable direction designs. Further, this new USB Type-C allows for radically higher data speeds and power carrying capabilities compared to the existing methods. As one of the key industry players behind the new design, we at Microsoft believe this is an important milestone in consumer electronics ecosystem development."
