Reddit Stolen Sex Images Banned, Blogger Bans Porn
Looks like the internet is fast becoming a PG13 affair and is fast becoming heavily regulated medium. Reddit, a very popular social networking content sharing site will start banning and deleting content with explicit images published without the subject's consent.
Reddit said: No matter who you are, if a photograph, video, or digital image of you in a state of nudity, sexual excitement, or engaged in any act of sexual conduct, is posted or linked to on Reddit without your permission, it is prohibited on Reddit."
"We also recognise that violent personalised images are a form of harassment that we do not tolerate and we will remove them when notified."
This will take effect on March 10.
Meanwhile, Google also said that they will be banning sexually explicit material on their Blogger platform. The company said that blogger will no longer be able to "publicly share images and video that are sexually explicit or show graphic nudity on Blogger as of March 23.
If you have a blog that shows sexually explicit or graphic nude pictures or video (ex porn) your blog will be made private after March 23, 2015. They will not remove your content, but it will no longer be viewable publicly meaning only the owner, admin, and the people who the owner has shared the blog with can view them.
If you have created a blog after March 23, 2015, and contains graphic nude pictures or video content they may remove the blog. You can check Google announcement here.
I think these companies are making sure that their services will not be use for celeb sex leak (Fappening) again.
