Apple iMac with 4K Retina display, reduce price of top-end 27"
Apple packed the 21.5-inch iMac with a stunning 4K-resolution display, along with faster processors and Thunderbolt 2. The company also made the "Retina 5K" screens standard on all its larger 27-in. models. They have also redesigned the keyboard, mouse and trackpad which are all equipped with rechargeable batteries and lightning connectors.
Apple debuted a 21.5-in. iMac with a Retina display of 4096-x-2304-pixel resolution at just $1,499, which is far from the $2,499 Retina 5K iMac when it was introduced while the lower priced is at $1,999.
The 21.5-inch iMac is powered by a quad-core 3.1GHz Intel Core i5 processor (older "Broadwell" line) with 8GB of RAM. It has an integrated GPU (graphics processor unit) from Intel and lots of storage space at 1TB hard disk drive. The processors are still one generation behind Intel's latest and there are no discrete graphics options. No HDMI input means it can't double as a TV monitor.
